FAQ
I am having trouble with my MyScouting account.
Our National Support Center can assist with any MyScouting issues. They have access to the administrative side of the accounts and can be contacted at myscouting@scouting.org.
My son is currently 10 years old. He will not be 12 years old by July 1, 2010 but will have completed the 6th grade. How do I register him?
If youth is not going to be 12 years old by July 1, 2010 but will be a graduate of the 6th grade, the Jamboree Department will need to start the application for the applicant. The parent/guardian needs to email 2010jamboree@scouting.org with the following information on the youth:
Name, Address, BSA Member ID number, Unit registered with and Council registered with as well as a statement that the youth will be a graduate of the 6th grade before the start of the jamboree.
Once the application is started, a reply will be sent with the instructions that the parent/guardian needs to complete the application.
Because we start the application, the agreement forms are bypassed. We will e-mail the agreement forms to the parent, requesting they read over the forms with the youth and e-mail us with their approval.
My son is currently 15 and wants to complete a Staff Application.
He will need to create a MyScouting account as shown above. He should select “NSJ Staff Application.” At the bottom of the first page, he will select the option “Adult staff (16-25).” Complete the remainder of the application.
Can the age requirements for the different categories be waived or bent?
No. Since the age requirements are in place according to BSA regulations for membership, they cannot be “waived” or “bent.”
Where do I make my jamboree payments for my child, and when are my payments due?
All Youth Participant payments are made directly to your local council. The National Council does not have access to the payment schedules for the councils. Each council sets its own payment schedule and amounts based on what tours, if any, it has arranged for its contingent(s).

A complete list can be found in the “Staff” section of this Web site.
I have received a staff patch in the mail, but have not received notification of what my job is.
The patch received in the mail is not related to actually having a staff position. The letter with the patch states:
Congratulations on completing your jamboree staff application. If selected as a jamboree staff member you will be joined by more than 7,500 Scouters committed to delivering a magnificent experience to our Scouts. The selection process can take some time. We appreciate your patience. In recognition of your first payment (deposit), you will find the official jamboree staff emblem enclosed for you to wear above the right pocket of your BSA uniform.
Everyone who submits a staff application AND pays the $100 staff deposit will receive a patch.
How can I purchase additional staff patches for my other uniforms?
Additional staff patches can be purchased on-site at the jamboree, but not before. You will receive a second patch after the final payment due date if you have made your final payment.
Can I be put on the distribution list for 2010 Jamboree updates?
All updates to the 2010 Jamboree will be posted in the Bulletins section of this Web site. Check regularly to stay updated and current with the jamboree. You may also subscribe to an RSS feed.
